I am Frédéric Hecht, professor at Sorbonne University in Paris and I created FreeFEM with Olivier Pironneau. I released FreeFEM in 1992, a new implementation of MacFEM completely re-written in C++. Twenty-seven years later, we were very proud to announce the release of FreeFEM version 4.
