Blood flow simulation

Full size 3D blood flow simulation is a complex computational fluid dynamics problem. Systems of millions of unknowns impose challenges in both computational and multi-scale aspects. Domain decomposition methods embody large potential for a parallelization of finite element analysis. FreeFem++ open source finite element code, 64-bit architecture, has been used to run a series of hemodynamic large-scale simulations, using both iterative and direct parallel solvers.
